explain how it’s that deep then when the author isnt undermining slavery or anyone who’s suffered through it, and when there are hundreds of movies out there that depict slavery

I'm glad the author actually took responsibility and cancelled the project, but how could this even be published in the first place? Does that mean not a single person around her noticed how bad it was? Not even a little? There must've been several people involved.. that's so concerning.....
