If only the dynamic wasn’t so messed up
Hopefully, they can reused them so they can bury this unpleasant memory and start again. They can even try the trope of lovers that look alike their past selfs in another life and give a twist so they can become a real life anecdote and lesson but brought it into a fantasy setting.
But author needs a better editor asap.

The work was cancelled but I hope they still launch another cowboy project reusing the same design but changing everything else. It can be done if they made it just loose in the historical facts, there's a lot in that time period without being especific, and do more research. Or an entire new story. I was kinda fond on the idea of the MC wanting to die and having existential crisis.
Author was very regretful but made it crear that wasn't the direction they were going. It is what it is.
Anyway, I hope this is a lesson too for many creators but popular series still mantain their popularity even when they too took from other cultures and fall into racial stereotypes and do nothing about them. Real activisms can be also very convenient sometimes and blind.
