IKR, there was (or is) this one Chinese yaoi where it's between a white doctor and an ambiguous African tribe leader where the tribe are cannibalists who greet each other by saying “Wakanda Forever” (you can watch the summary of it on YT, by the channel user Noirii). The fact that an author can even imagine creating such a racist story like that shows how the voices of Black ppl truly don’t matter. That's why I hate it when others try to switch it to a “Americans are so sensitive” thing, when this is something that is seen with Black ppl even outside of the US. It really is horrible.

This just goes to show that there is no such thing as solidarity between marginalized communities. When the black community shares their discomfort with the topic at hand it’s not for non black people to argue against. This is a real thing this is real history and it’s so recent and traumatic that people’s direct family members were slaves. Keep in mind that racial disparities are still carried out today as a result of slavery, this is not something to take light and it’s so unfortunate to see the queer community invalidate the significance of this especially when black people were so pivotal to the legalization of queer rights. Instead of blaming them for this manhwa getting cancelled we should be glad that its no longer disrespecting the extremely nuanced subject that is chattel slavery.
