the way i intepret it is that his main objective was to remain in his memories one way or the other, He made the uke so insanely dependend on him that the uke will always 'think' of him (ps: not saying love cause that was never his goal). I am more of a 'the couple should end up together no matter what' type of person so i think they both ditched the double suicide idea and just lived normally, well, as normally as they can. However, i do believe the author kept the ending intentionally vague so that people can intepret it the way the want.

cause he said that he'll do better but also the end looked like a suicide note especially with the phrase "live in his memories"? so I'm kinda confused, someone enlighten me.
