I think she's milking it. This is why I'm starting to dislike serialization like this bc at some point, the story stalls, we keep paying for each chapter to get nowhere. I stopped paying for some of them when I realize they're not going anywhere bc that's just greedy af

In the defense of the author, economy, especially for artists has been really tough. and editors recommend them to make it long like true beauty or remarried empress, this manhwa even got a special promo song, so it’s likely that happened. And to be the first work of the author, the beginning was pretty solid and later, it just became a loop
I get that but at the same time, you're sacrificing quality with quantity and you'll lose your customers' trust. That's how I felt with j*nx. I loved her 1st work and decided to purchase all of her other one only for it to end so flatly and terribly. It was so repetitive, the story stalled and the ending was a whole lot of nothingburger with a time skip. It really was a slap in the face as a paying customer that paid 10 cents more per chapter compared to other works that are more deserving of my coin.
Needless to say, I won't be supporting her next work unless I know she's not milking it for money. The same for other authors. I do try to support them when I love the story and their work. But it gets to a point where you can see and feel the corporate greed
The blame goes to the company though.
The webtoon industry makes lots of money, especially outside of Korea, by stealing from their readers.
You buy 3 chapters for 4 dollars, and can only keep your chapters 1 week maximum.
Some apps make you pay 15 dollars per month to read an unlimited number of webtoons, when most readers are only interested by 3 or 5 webtoons.
Is the author allergic to progress? The lack of communication and the toxic manipulation just keeps repeating over and over.. 107 chapters you would think they would have gotten over this cycle by now?!
