Hmm, i do get your point but abandoned is a strong word—I don’t think he did abandon her but rather he was incapable of doing anything. I do agree that he was lacking, he could’ve done so much more but he didn’t. He still did love her though, and what could’ve he possibly have against the king and the duke Hailey’s father(?) when he’s a mere knight
