I'm not defending that user, I'm trying to support you. you can argue from a stronger factual position that slavery and the Holocaust are two expressions of the same hateful and exploitative thing (white supremacy) without giving yourself a point of attack from someone claiming that you're diminishing the holocaust because people like to be disingenuous. Hitler was inspired by Jim Crow and the US's treatment of Black people for Nazi policies, after all. in terms of scope and scale, Black people have received less support and greater suppression in our struggle against white supremacy and the legacy of slavery and colonialism, and the exploitation has never stopped. so I agree that chattel slavery and the exploitation of Black people is on a different scale and has a different impact compared to the holocaust, but I don't want to downplay one to give rightful attention to the other. some people were doing that in past topics, so I was jumpy about that.
