can some of y’all stop pushing your own standards onto queer media? especially when the characters grew up in a conservative environment. mc wasn’t accepted by his own parents, and before he could even reconcile with them, they DIED

he’s carrying that grief while suddenly becoming the guardian of his nephew. do you seriously think he’d be in the right state of mind to navigate work, raising a child, and a relationship all at once??? despite everything, he did his best to make sure tsumu was fed, clean, loved, and cared for. that’s why i’m grateful ml came into his life and helped ease some of that burden

his anxiety was also completely VALID. he was protecting ml from the prejudice that comes with dating another man. since ml was straight, it scares mc to think “what if ml eventually realized he wanted the life he is a a conventional family?”

and the whole reo situation— mc wasn’t considering living with reo because he liked him more than ml. reo was another single father, from mc’s perspective, two single dads helping each other raise their kids would be seen as a practical arrangement that SOCIETY could accept much more easily please
