first they lay down flowers in hopes the women will forget the path to their homeland and be with their husbands for life.
second they gravely forbid women to see the ceremony to choose a knight. mad weird cause what will happen if a women saw it. will all them get bombed?
third men aren't allowed to go inwards with for some reason while women are. which feels like women are supposed to be servers but men are not.
now you could argue with that by saying its because women stay there and the concubines are mostly. but to that i must say that that their was a male concubine and tei (mc) himself is a man.
so yea it was weirdly misogynistic. i have read every work of bwt but i have never encountered such levels of misogyny in any of the stories

they lay down flowers in hopes the women will forget the path to their homeland and be with their husbands for life. i believe they used a word that felt like women were mere servants for men.

Yahhh yknow what I kinda see it, ig shurakas place is more patriarchal? While tei's is more above that maybe? idk? cuz he did mention that even woman raise arms to fight during war (when he was talking to little shuraka)

also tei did mention that he is just like his mother being shipped away from home because of "love" (not rlly his mother was taken like a thropy won from war.) Nevertheless, with all the misogynistic concepts and traditions alike i think the author did rlly well with world building, its realistic almost and Familiar with what we know but since (misogyny part) is not the center plot? Making it just there, subtle and "weird" to see
