Honestly this plot hurts bcs the adults are trapped in choices they made yrs ago, but the one carrying consequences without understanding anything is the child. I get why FL thought leaving was the only option and I get why ML felt betrayed after finding out… but watching the kid slowly get attached only to be met with distance on his birthday invitation was painful. He didn’t ask to be born into secrecy, agency pressure, broken trust, or unresolved feelings. He just saw someone he liked and wanted to share his small happiness :(

I’m not even mad at either side anymore bcs both of them clearly suffered… but my heart broke for the kid. Imagine inviting someone you admire to your tiny birthday party and hearing a cold rejection without knowing the history behind it :(
