First of all, I don't hate this story, but I don't really love it either. It's pretty mid for me. The beginning was actually quite interesting, but it started to fall apart around the middle. To be honest, it felt like the creator gave up halfway through the manhwa. Everything felt rushed toward the end.
Hmm, I don't know why so many people hate the ML when he was beaten as a kid by the person he trusted the most (his "brother"). Then he was locked up and raped by that same "brother."
He knew nothing about his parents because his "brother" chose to carry that burden alone. Like the MC said, the ML is just a normal person, and he's completely different from the MC. All he knew was that he had been betrayed by the one person who meant the most to him.
So why do so many people act like he shouldn't be angry, or that he got off too easily? he was also a victim here.
I know the MC did everything because he wanted to protect the ML, but that doesn't justify locking him up and raping him.
I don't know... but if the roles were reversed, if the top had locked up and raped the uke, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would curse the top and want the uke to run away from him, even if the top had spent his whole life protecting the uke. In this case, if the ML were the uke, I'm pretty sure many people would want him to run away with Liane instead.
I know people might hate or disagree with what I'm saying, and I'm sorry if they do. But I've read too many stories like this. Whenever the uke is the one who makes mistakes, hurts others, or does something stupid, many people still cheer for him. But once the roles are reversed, people judge the situation very differently.
Oh, and about the last episode... I don't know. Maybe it's because of the poor adaptation. I haven't read the novel yet, so I'm only reviewing this based on the manhwa.
The MC thought the ML couldn't trust him and chose to go with someone else. But when did MC ever give the ML a reason to trust him? He refused to tell him the truth from the very beginning, so I don't understand why he was so angry about everything.
MC wasn't the one only one who felt betrayed. MC had been hiding the truth from him for years, so of course ML would have trust issues. From ML's perspective, the one person he trusted the most had lied to him all this time.
Also, surprisingly, I didn't get second male lead syndrome in this story. First, the friend looks way too much like the MC. Second, his character just isn't developed strongly enough for me to become attached to him.
That said, he really is a good person, and I'm glad he got his own story in the end.ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
