I really enjoyed the fact that this story has a very niche category and how the story evolved. The characters were really unique and memorable as well.
However, the story--specifically towards the climax and conclusion was underwhelming given it's superb opening. I felt that a lot of the characters and the storyline was glossed over, for example; Lyka running away all of a sudden, H20 managing to injure bessy, Coral Reef's supposed betrayal, the other packs that were in rivalry for resources in 'The Forest', Blue Sky's backstory--H20 and The Alpha's relationship, the parents' deaths which I believe the mother's demise has yet to be explained and so much more.
Some specific traits that drove the character to act the way they did was also rather simplistic too, it seemed as if it was just there to progress the story and not really development--especially H20's towards the end. Mans was OBSESSED and he just gave up like that?
I personally think that there could have been more to the story. It would've been nice to see Helm settle in 'The Forest' truly and reconstruct the base together-- especially given how he had managed to find some sort of bio-organism that could purify radiation. I also believe there should be consequences for H20 for his deception to the Arks. It's quite brushed over--after the truth was revealed, I was full on expecting WAR or some sort of retaliation but the best we got was an explosion and suddenly all fades to black.
It's saddening to see a plot with great potential end so abruptly. Nonetheless, these are just my personal takes after reading but I will still recommend it as a read for anyone interested.
