this was the funniest fuckin way to put it LOL but on the contrary i think he kinda did develop (as much as a stepping-stone-for-the-leads typa side character could)
he realized he didn't necessarily need to belong to someone but instead, a genuine place to belong [that actually gave a damn about him] and he found that, not just with mellie n jade, but with the village and within his hobbies
his initial growth from getting over his first love was so good, in another life please be the mc of an angsty found family story
francis potential character development so good but author kept taking it back and ended with making him go on world tour im crying
