and in the earlier chapters (like 2-4) guwon mentions he thinks jinwoo's back talk could mean jinwoo would challenge guwon, but guwon says it with a smile and maybe even anticipation (excited to crush ops or sth else? idk)

I personally feel Guwon would enjoy the idea of Teach wanting to kill him? I'm thinking back to Ep. 22 where Jinwoo confronts Guwon about how he is wrong for instilling fear and punishing people like animals. Guwon is so happy when Jinwoo says these things to him.
Also, all the times before and after this confrontation, Guwon always has a smile on his face when Jinwoo is "sleepwalking", holding a knife or his own hands around Guwon's throat.
Does anyone think back to the nightmare Jinwoo had where the people of the town blame him? Could that have been a premonition to him keeping the Doctor's ring on him instead of leaving it behind? If it weren't for the ring, Sangjun wouldn't have need to bring up suspicion, and everything the new chapter goes over.
