Nathan goes to a high school meeting where he hears about the picture Alex was threatened with, he then asks his brother (to ask his husband) to investigate Alex, he ends up finding everything out in details including Alex’s personal stuff (also, Alex ends up finding out his dad escaped to Korea and formed a new family, yes he’s an asshole for that especially leaving his debt behind, and goes to work-required therapy bc of that). Nathan, regretful and convinced Alex may still like him, tries calling him multiple times to no response, so he runs out the door to go to him.
Simultaneously Alex is looking for Amy, who escaped the hospital and could be in danger, ends up finding her, there’s a man about to attack her, Alex intervenes, tells Amy to run away, electrocutes(?) the man, but also gets stabbed and passes out.
Going back Nathan, right when he open his door, Amy is there and tells him that she was lured out the hospital, Alex is in danger, but that she called the police. Nathan tells to stay in his house and to call the police again. Apparently the confrontation happened near Nathan’s house because he runs there. Upon finding him unconscious, he’s mortified, pressed on his stab wound and assuming the police are on their way, he calls the hospital to prep a surgery room.
That’s how chap 100 concludes on the novel. I can’t wait for more. Also, the asshole back in high school that threatened Alex, on the background check Nathan ran on Alex it appeared the quit his football career due to injury and started working at a pharmaceutical company. So, I have no doubt he’s involved in the crimes and will be brought up again
