Toxic, drama, controlling red flag, break ups… I bet people find this kind of bliss boring
Agree but also mangas just don’t tend to be rated is highly on here compared to manhwas for some reason
Visual I think, manga was created for the chance of physical copy, so everything is more compacted, in black and white. While manhwa is by designed created as webcomic that you can quickly scroll, with almost all being fully coloured, never intended to be seen as a physical copy.
I have got so used to reading manhwa/webtoon, that now, reading manga on my phone is killing my eyes. Everything is so compacted, and all in black and white, with less focal points. Especially those like this, where there is quite an amount of sex scene, people who read it are usually on phone.
Manga with beautiful art and a great story still have really high ratings, but their demographic usually read on laptop, pc, or physical copy. Where the compacted panelling is not a big issue or disadvantage at all.
So generally, I think it’s more of a panelling issue. They are using story telling panelling for smut/sex scene. That’s not quite appealing or easy access. I have seen quite an amount of hentai or R18 short Japanese work, while maintaining the whole ready for physical copy and in black and white, their panelling techniques are different. So in summary, it’s more on the narrative skills and choices, affecting marketing/accessibility, not so much on the story itself.
