Ties in to what I've already said under another comment from you. =)
Everything he says to Jo now, he was going to say anyways I feel. My reading is he wouldv'e refused to go with Jo, and have said the things he says here now. That of all people, Jo should never have to find out what tipping over on the dark side feels like. And should never have to worry about his friends and family getting drageged under, which is what will happen inevitably is he stays by YW's side.
The only difference now is that he has a sure destination at the end of the journey. In some ways, they've come full circle. TJ has had to wait for YW. Now YW will be the one to wait for TJ.
There is a conspiracy theory that author was writing those chapter under the pressure of company and fans which is why you will see both sides of fans with different opinions and interpretations .we tj stans focus on ian's inner monologue in chapter 98 where he says his heart's being tied to one place and there is no way his relationship with jo would work which means even if he left with jo ,he would have never able to forget tj . Therefore it is irrelevant whether he broke up with Jo out of fear that his past would haunt them, what truly matters is that his love for TJ outweighs everything else
There's conspiracy theories on this manhwa??
Good lord... People outdo themselves I tell ya.
I'm never been on any social media platform so my experience of this manhwa has been limited to the manhwa itself, and the comment sections under the sites. Batto was messy AF.
What usually fried my noodle was how misunderstood and misinterpreted this manhwa went by most people. Maybe pwp and in your face stories have ruined complicated, nuanced, layered and metaphorically shrouded narratives like Wet Sand for most people. But by god this is in my top 3 of all times. Because all along, that's what this manhwa was building towards. There was no other endgame than YW and TJ. That much was obvious from the get go in my humble opinion. There's far too much history and entanglement there.
the author is fluent in English and grew up in nz. time to time it has proven she gets easily swayed by harsh criticism and opinions from international fans . I mean whole chapter 99 is her ragebaiting jo stans and their theory after the endgame was revealed that sent them in a permanent shock and her company being a jo stan added a lots of stress on that too because company thinks bl market is now shifting to green flag ml from reg flag so her original vision about wetsand was somewhere lost in this whole conflict that's how she came up with last few chapters full of contradictions and room for different interpretations.
Truth be told I don't necessarily read these as contradictions. Two different things can very well be true at the same time. that's what makes this so layered and realistic as a narrative.
I think there's value in looking at an entangled mess, and not feeling the need to untangle it. There's beauty there too ya know? One just has to be willing to see it...

Okay so ian is leaving jo because he doesn't want him and his family to be dragged in this? And what if he wasn't dragged in it then he would have left tj just like that???? I wonder if tj hadn't come what ian would have done
