Ok, well, I skimmed up to half the novel, and then read the spoilers, and I think it might read better in comic form than novel form, because it's meant to be a micro drama in vision. However, it's true the MC is a doormat. Even when she had a plan in mind, she gives up on it last minute because she can't make up her mind if she wants to go through with it. There isn't a braincell up there in that attic. I also have no idea why the ML is so devoted to her since the beginning, and puts up with her fickleness and lack of communication. Understandably, everyone denied her identity in the beginning so she didn't want to repeat herself, but at I think at the halfway point, the ML feels like he trusts her enough to believe her and even she thinks so, but she still won't come out and say what she wants. That she's really Marianne, that the mystery child is Gloria's illegitimate offspring, or that she still wants revenge. I'm pretty sure the author is just dragging it out to earn more money, which is why it reads exactly like those micro drama tiktok shorts lmao. For those who are curious about the ending, (and I don't know anymore detail than this), but apparently Cedric, the ex-husband catches syphilis from sleeping around too much, and is broke. Gloria ends up in jail, but catches smallpox and loses her memory of everything except her name. I'm not sure if this type of ending is satisfactory but that's what the forums say.
