I think seeing his mother give up something she loved made him resentful for sacrifice in love, so he ends up ending relationships because he thinks he'll make the significant other trapped like his mom. Idk im probably pointing out something blarringly obvious

    Tbh all the people around him are rich so they get given opportunities often, if he werent rich there would be less people sacrificing their lives for love

    Better question is, why should Youngjo love people who guilt-trip him into reciprocation and take out their anger when it backfires? One day a guy you’ve been nice to decides he’s in love and expects you to not only reciprocate but change your life-building plans to accommodate him. You agree to meet in the middle by doing what is asked (sex). Instead of being content with that, he starts to resent, verbally abuse, beat, and blame you for distracting him from music and making him fall in love with you. Why should Youngjo love Yoseop? Why should he love Garam who until recently saw him as a smoke break at most. Why should he love these nameless girls that like him for his looks?
