He doesn't try to infantilize her cause she can't see, he isn't perfect in the way no one is (in this particular scenario especially in the way that those of us who can see speak, act and have mannerisms of ppl who are used to communicating with others who can also see and therefore it's our default setting of visualizing and interacting with the world in that way) and makes mistakes but he owns up to them and apologizes and does better in the future, he searches for ways to explain the beauty of the world around them in a way that she can feel and understand when she asks for it and even when she doesn't. She showed him the beauty in the world by just being her charming whimsical self and made him more whimsy and appreciative of the world in the process. They are soulmates - platonic/romantic I don't care but wonderful nonetheless. I don't particularly care if it's romantic or platonic cause it just works and that's enough.
