Well the short answer will be a dominant alpha (Ashley) and dominant omega (Koi) having kids with very strong genes that make them either manifest very early or since birth. As the early manifestation stops their emotional development, most of the kids end up as psychopathic or having anger issue. After failure from therapy and since neither parents are experienced in raising non normal kids, the alpha dad uses strict disciplinary method (not physical hitting) and has mentors teach them how to read social cues and behave in certain situations. He also keep the omega dad away from them to avoid them doing crazy shit or getting too used to his pheromone. This address the issues of their children in the surface but not the root and they end up as society menaces one way or another.

As the person before me said, Grayson and his twin almost killed Koi before since they put something in his food if I remember correctly.
