This is what I was wondering too! Expecially since they implied that he was american and he did a testament… i was always expecting a lawyer to call the MC to tell her that the guy died leaving everything to her, letting her start a new life in America with a soldi background. Overall she was so naive and so lucky with her encounters , well I suppose that is plot armour for you!
Still he male lead has to suffer much more. It is unsufferable to see how he was always a man with money and power with infinite arrogance but had so low esteem just when confronted with MC. And she just justified everything just because he was suffering blablabla, as what he did in the past life was not emotional abuse and neglect.
