the comments mentioning MBO here highkirkenuinely set this manhwa up because my GOD, even with me being generous, this is only 20% of MBO's likeness and quality AT MOST. even then i still find myself questioning whether or not 20% is too big a number for it.
calibrating my expectations to gear up for MBO-level of quality when it comes to character writing, emotional depth, nuance, narrative & plot, etc. have left me severely disappointed in this manhwa ngl, especially once the story entered the whole getting imprisoned for 6 months arc and onwards - by that point, it genuinely felt less MBO and more like typical wack Korean romanceslop where the author wanted to fall back on those modern rich CEO ML romance drama tropes but make it have the novelty of being set in a more historically accurate 19th - 20th century. and this has soured it so much for me i can't even bring myself to finish out the last 2-3 chapters.
Please be warned that, in my perspective, this truly isn't for you if you're genuinely expecting another MBO-level story & romance here, but if you're looking for sth along the lines of the extreme Temu rip off version of MBO, then you're sorta-kinda in the right place.
