Are we REALLY progressing as a society bro ☠

Aight, title might be a bit too much to talk about in terms of general society cause this shit is genuinely just me ranting about something I've been observing recently.

Why are literally most recent decently famous BLs just genuine jackshit and people are eating it up Like it would have the classic squadron of SA, non-con, player culture, empty personalities, romanticized Stockholm syndrome, and toxic relationships and people would continuously glaze it hello...

I get it, different people have different preferences but if you seriously think that liking and praising stuff that contain what I've said above is alright, no it really isn't...

Legit tho bc like -- I read some of those wack genres but it shocks me the balls some of them have to actually leave the characters together... Like imo the "happy ending" I'm looking for is the separation of the two characters. In older bls it used to happen more where one would die, or the other would get locked up in a psych ward. But I literally just read a recently finished one, and they ended up T O G E T H E R like happy ending sparkles phrasing. As for the readers, imo I'm no good either (bc I read to highk hate on them) but romanticizing the stuff is just... It's just... It's a bad idea it's not good unhealthy mindset.

But ig like, everyone has such diverse moral sets to their reading

It should be pentad, don't forget about an adult man that fostered/adopted/stepdad and a boy he saw growing up ... I'm not hating but it just doesn't sit well to me especially the time when I saw a spoiler of a new manhwa that gone viral that an adult saw that child newly hatched but people called the child a "top"
but in the comment section of the manga I read about a suicidal highschooler and a serial killer adult who met online — the people called it grooming, when their age is not really the main point of it

I'm really sensitive irl (like, I faint at the sight of blood and I'm super soft-hearted, I'm even asexual lol) but I like reading the craziest shit in fiction :(( I know it's wrong to behave that way, but I know I'll never treat anybody like they do. So i just like reading about it, just like some people like horror or gorey games/movies.

irl, the governments everywhere have teamed up with organized crime and are full of misogyny and homophobia, what does it matter if I read a crazy fictional story before work?
