Like he said he didn't view it as abuse, he saw it as a punishment so the best thing for him was just to get through that punishment otherwise there would be worse punishment. Why would he rescue someone who's just being 'punished' for his bad actions?

And I can tell that you haven't read a lot of ZIG's (the author) novels based on how you view Grayson's character. I'm not saying that you should like him but trust the process lol
LMAOOO this chapter was so stupid. idc this is the dumbest decision making, “taking someone’s place in punishment” rather just being efficient and taking him out of there. ik we’re supposed to feel sympathetic that he normalized his abuse but honestly it just makes him look incredibly stupid. i love these characters still so i’ll keep reading but i swear some authors r so bad at writing believable stories LIKE COME ON BRO
