Like he said he didn't view it as abuse, he saw it as a punishment so the best thing for him was just to get through that punishment otherwise there would be worse punishment. Why would he rescue someone who's just being 'punished' for his bad actions?

I'm thiiis close to straggler Ashley when the backstory played. So I instantly understand why Grayson didn't even see this 'abuse' as 'abuse', especially when he had 'punishment' that was at the same level as that in his childhood (it's not a dang punishment yes, his family got issue and so that brought him to this day with his twisted mind). ╥﹏╥

LMAOOO this chapter was so stupid. idc this is the dumbest decision making, “taking someone’s place in punishment” rather just being efficient and taking him out of there. ik we’re supposed to feel sympathetic that he normalized his abuse but honestly it just makes him look incredibly stupid. i love these characters still so i’ll keep reading but i swear some authors r so bad at writing believable stories LIKE COME ON BRO
