I think it has more to do with the fact that they are twins. I have heard there can be many types of disparities shared in twins because they share the womb on inception. I think it's more medical than supernatural.
There is absolutely 0 supernatural element with their connection. It's a biological link for twins, they do not share physical pain and stuff from legends. Scientifically speaking, what they have is an incredibly rare, highly synchronized neurological and immune link as twins. Taeui is like the battery and Jaeui is the one that benefits from him. As long as Taeui stays healthy, then Jaeui's body links with that same healthiness. I can explain more if this still ends up a bit confusing, just lmk
Thanks for explaining that part. The story has gone on for so long so I don't even rmb the beginning anymore, but having this extra strong connection that almost seems supernatural with his twin doesn't really seem to serve the story much except for getting kidnapped part. Idk. Do you think it fits into the story and how does it help it?
the whole point taeui even ran into ilay in the first place was bc he wanted to find his brother... so the twin connection is the main reason this story started its the whole plot for taeui
The supernatural element feels out of place in this story. I cannot wrap my head around the thing with the brothers and how if one dies, so will the other.
I was told that some similar beliefs are intertwined with Chinese and Korean culture, even among people who are not super spiritual, so, I will take this at face value
