He just.. got the news. Before even doing the deed, brother slowly developed his frontal lobe and realized his feelings for MC. Before he set things right, he went on this last expedition and that's when, on the verge of death, his brain is full on gear about MC and it finally worked as it was intended to.
But brother thought he died and shi when he was doing the deed and when he realized it's reality, brother run to the church asap asking to be excommunicated so he can be with MC.
This and that and otw to find MC, to apologize and ask her to be with him, he was already thinking about their future together.
But otw, the princess, after killing mc, blocked and be like "don't mind her and be with me, I'll show u what true ecstasy is" and brother replied "I also wanna know the ecstasy u r speaking of- *he took the princess hands off him* BUT. NOT. WITH. YOU!" And I literally screamed and he be like no cap.
Anyway, he run around to look for MC but it was too late cuz when he found her, she's already dead on the floor... ╮(￣▽￣)╭

It's a mixture of feelings and it depends on the reader tbh. More spoilers ahead:
One of the reasons why I think he is a red flag is cuz he's still giving MC a hard time. Remember when I said he can control monsters and rifts, for some freaking reason, he's manipulating stuff just so MC can't earn money.. so MC can't leave him- DESPITE it was hinted he knows her BG- (her backstory)
The second is.. idk- it may just be me but they don't have any intimate moments... Other than having seggs or something similar to it.. I can't feel the love from ML other than horniness for MC. So whenever they do the deed- he keeps saying stuff like "you can do it, just a lil bit more" or like "I already prepared u so why r u still tight?"
IDFK DUDE! um- YAH KNOW YOU GRAPED HER ONCE!! WITHOUT PREPARING HER!
It may just be me but I would have preferred if he prepared her more or like have moments of hesitation from him.
So ye- has brother did anything for MC for her to be happy? Other than the bare minimum of FINALLY PROVIDING HER IN THE SECOND LIFE AND ACTUALLY INTERACTING WITH HER!

There was a moment where MC used ML for this social gathering stuff but like, ML ain't that holy anymore and he doesn't give an f yet he keeps acting like his old safe making MC still stress out about his religion
