Are you illiterate? Ruby is so incredibly traumatized even if you don’t really know much of the trauma she experienced you can tell she has ptsd? If you can’t handle a complex female mc this story is definitely not for you
Not every person is able to handle trauma in such way. Rudbeckia grew up being used for others benefits and got accustomed to the regular punishment she received. The abuse was and is long-term, which means we can’t expect someone to, realistically, get over it over such short time just because she met Iske. And I think it’s also part of the plot since Iske is the one “healing” her from her trauma. If you can’t deal with realistic stories, look for something else to read. I doubt that it makes sense for her to overcome her ptsd in such a short time. It wouldn’t make sense under her circumstances…
