exactly and it's so ironic, he would not have been interested this much in uke without him running away, but this is why they work so well.
He said earlier that he liked it, but knew it wasn't a good thing. He likes to chase people in general, but it doesn't feel good romantically for people to actually full-on leave you.

He explicitly said he wouldn't get bored and leave. The uke asked him about that. The seme said he'd never get bored because he liked him. The "I like to chase people" is pretty much just a narrative excuse to show that he's good at tracking down his flighty lover.
