I read the novel and this timeline is still toxic as heck. He’s going back and forth between devil and puppy. It’s exhausting to read. He would chase after Aeroc and spoiled him the entire story, and then he had nightmares about the past and get up strangled Aeroc without realizing it. He did apologize later…but man, how do you resolve to love him but still hang up on wanting to kill him at the same time?
