This site went down multiple times in the past years because of posts like that. We had legal battles with webtoon creators to the extend where one creator even put a bounty for a specific translator. You dont know anything we went through.
I've only had an account here for about 6 years (lurker for much longer), and I've seen multiple instances where people posting screenshots/panels of scans from this site or other piracy sites to social media ended up causing problems, even when the site itself wasn't explicitly named. That's the issue here.
Obviously, you haven't been around long enough to understand that the problem isn't whether the site was mentioned by name. The problem is that an unauthorized translation was posted publicly on social media and an author was tagged. That's exactly the kind of thing that can draw attention to these sites. When something is posted publicly, you can't control who sees it, screenshots it, or brings attention to it, even if the original post is eventually deleted. Some of us have been around long enough on dead sites to have seen these situations happen repeatedly and we don't want what happened to b@to to happen to mgo too just cuz certain people can't learn NOT to post scans on social media.
I'm not saying people should panic or fearmonger, but dismissing the concern entirely isn't helpful either. The point isn't to cause anxiety; it's to be mindful about what gets posted publicly and who gets tagged. We've already seen what can happen when these sites get too much public attention, so there's nothing unreasonable about people wanting others to be more careful.
those ppl in the comments giving ppl anxiety for no reason need to stop. this fear mongering discussion about this site rolls around every year, if you've been here long enough you've seen it. it is a pity what happened to b@to but that doesn't excuse the need to fear monger and give others anxiety? b@to went down bc it was too well known. yall should know the tweet was just an image of a panel and was deleted a long time ago the site was NOT mentioned in any way, shape, or form. and the OTHER person that tagged an author also deleted theirs (separate ppl). so ur safe! fear mongering and panic just causes the site to be talked about more! when b@to went under, ppl fear mongered and caused panic and anxiety on here, which in turn made ppl talk about this site publicly, which brought more eyes on it.
