felt the same disappointment ( ╥ ᴗ ╥) ofc we naturally expect these characters to act according to our own moral compass... this just isnt the fluffy story for that. the author created these flawed, morally bankrupt but charismatic MLs and got readers so gaslit and manipulated that we forget they were never good people to begin with..... then bam disappointment and we gotta accept that they did something wrong (¬`‸´¬)
but i appreciate how their actions are psychologically consistent with who they are. props to yuuji because none of their characters' actions ever felt out of character to me. it's shitty af but it's also so xinlu to genuinely think he was doing yuri a favor by doing that ( ╥ ᴗ ╥) like no babe, that's rape
anw in both stories i love how we get to see the MLs navigate the limits of their own psychology for their MCs..... after many abusive crimes (rip yuri's 36yo back and tae's ass)

i really think we need to call this scene what it was. zero consent was given or even talked about before getting inebriated. then xinlu had his way with yuri MULTIPLE times while he was drifting in and out of consciousness. he leaves him on the floor covered in cum. yuri wakes up feeling like a truck had hit him and had to recover for DAYS. yes, they talked about it after the incident, but what already happened was still rape.
don't get me wrong, i enjoyed and love passion raga and i still have several lines saved from the novel because it was beautiful at some point, but we have to admit xinlu did reprehensible things and isn't the most morally upright. even YURI himself admits it to taeui when they compare ilay and xinlu in the side stories. TO QUOTE DIRECTLY: [Taeui continued with a joking tone, "Hmm, it's hard to say who's worse between Ilay and Xinlu, but in a way, isn't Xinlu more dangerous than Ilay? If things go wrong, Ilay would just snap your neck, but Xinlu would, I don't know.."

guys i know he's beautiful and the artist did a WONDERFUL job, but take off those rose-tinted glasses. they didn't have the smoothest or healthiest relationship. yuri is an angel, and this was rape.
if you don't think this was rape, i'd encourage you to learn more about consent, coercion, and the role incapacitation plays in whether someone can consent.
