Looks like they’re blue light blockers - not necessarily prescriptions since you can also get them over the counter at pharmacies, they're just to protect his eyes from harsh blue light that would be coming from a tv that bright in a room so dark. The blue light could cause him eye strain, headaches and mess with his vision
