While I absolutely agree that it is okay to feel badly about Ekles' fate, we must also remember that from the beginning she was for the most part forthright. She didn't treat him better or worse than any other. She was even one to dehumanize him from the beginning, it is only that she hadn't beaten him half-to-death and gave him barely human decency that he clung to her. Once she had resolved herself she tried to free him, not as a test, but as a realization of moral failing, never once would I consider it logical to find attraction to someone who holds the leash to my chains. That being said, when presented with such an opportunity to live for himself remind me again what he chose to do with that? His is a man with a pitiful fate, but we cannot deny the choices he made when presented with the idea that his 'master' no longer wanted to hold his chains or keep his collar.

does anyone else feel bad for ekles?? bc i LOVE this manhwa to death and even own a hard copy—but am i the only one who finds it SO weird how they villainized ekles; the literal slave who had kind of been pitted in a “stockholm syndrome” type of thing with penelope in a sort of way? like he literally had no one but penelope as she literally “saved” him to USE him and give him false hopes of “love” i guess. i know penelope had a goal to finish the game asap but its just that they did ekles so… horribly. like wtfdym hes probably dead and his body is fucking unknown . he just wanted to be valued by his savior and was literally manipulated by yvonne…
