I absolutely feel that wave of nostalgia too. And honestly? I also prefer manga to manhwa.
I actually started my BL journey with Junjou Romantica, just like a lot of people did back then. But as I dug deeper into the genre, I discovered much cooler and more impactful mangas and mangakas—like Yoneda Kou and Ike Reibun. Their storytelling and art styles just hit differently. Even now, with all the webtoons taking over, I still find myself gravitating toward those classic works. You're definitely not alone in feeling this way!
Exactly!! I also started with Junjou Romantica and other classic BL, and the memories of those times are precious to me... I also enjoy reading manhwa if the plot and characters hook me, but nothing will ever be superior to classic BL manga, they just hit different... If there's any veteran who's reading this, do you ever have a sudden wave of nostalgia for old BL manga? Like manga from the 2000s and early 2010s... I feel like this website is now completely ruled by webtoons, and it's not that I don't like them, but sometimes I just miss the good old days...
