I powered through reading the history of their deity and Jae's relationship but for Christ's sake, it indeed feels like a whole rush like the other comments said. I love this author's works but I wish they balanced the gooner shit in the beginning chapters so we could have had such a very dark and unsettling history melded into the story at an earlier time. It feels cheap cuz it just feels like the author were late on delivering certain parts of the story or was trying to reach their deadlines and decided to infodump the root of this story's problem all in one go now cuz they forgot it was the whole point of this story. I can empathize with Muhan's situation, it is fvcking insane what he went through as a young and just alpha in such a misogynistic time but I cannot fully connect with him because were finding all this out in real time. The emotional beats just don't hit the same. And for f's sake, I cant believe we sent Muhan to the ??? Afterlife ?? With cheap words. And by another deity ????? I cant agree with Muhan being told to feel courageous for trying to cling to life while creating his 3 alters to stay in this mortal realm when the life he lived is one we'll never truly comprehend. All that pain, sorrow, the insanity that comes with being bastardized into a faulty god shackled and forever tormented to do the bidding of a deranged family with freaky rituals and societal beliefs. It feels like sending him to the grim reaper (?) without Jae around was half-assed and lacks an added layer of that emotional beat Im looking for. That shoulda been a season or ending finale of sorts to see human Muhan finally get the chance to rest and stop being this deranged and weeping god and finally be at peace by being delivered to the reaper by smn significant like Jae. Also quick quesh but if he's leaving, how are the alters staying??? Where do I begin to ask about their physical forms ??!!! They just be pulling that outta their ass ???
