The scholarship was through connections, but not because our MC actively sought for it. The scholarship wouldn’t have been made in the first place if our MC wasn’t struggling so much to financially support himself, it was our ML’s excuse to pay for his schooling. But all his classmates are salty about a student who’s already working a shit ton of jobs, getting chased by thugs, and is still one of the high achieving student on getting a scholarship, since that scholarship was basically free ride. Jealousy in this situation towards the MC is crazy if it’s assumed by his classmates that he’s in debt and is doing other “services” to keep himself afloat.
But tbh this is the tension needed for the ML to have a closer connection to our MC. It just sucks we see him struggle AGAIN, despite his dedication to going to school and doing things by himself ://
You know a part of me wants to believe that he got scholarship because he deserved it and not through connections… idk…
