people might consider them toxic but imo i think only della’s mindset is toxic/unhealthy and not the relationship. he just he genuinely doesn’t understand empathy and norms, but he communicates that properly by expressing how he feels instead of acting upon the violent thoughts he gets — and keith does his best to make della understand and teach him without cowering away from his frustrations and being patient with him bc keith knows della is trying his best in his own way
to say it shortly, i would argue that their relationship is on the road of being healthy, or showing a lot of healthy signs atleast
