Ok, probably the translator went wrong. Because in here, when ML asked about the girl name ja moryang, sunghyo literally said that "she is my lover", "don't butt in to our relationship". It's also bit weird that sunghyo even appeared in this arc and bought silk for ja moryang.
If the kid will keep pursuin sunghyo, in epilo, will they start dating? How old is she in epilog?
Yes! On chapter 40. ML said to sunghyo "I find it hard to believe that you would make such a pck with 10yo child". Sunghyo did reply "she is still just a child", and when ML said "her transgression is too serious to simply let go", sunghyo said "she is my lover".
And ML asked again if moryang really is his lover. Sunghyo said yes (again) and said he won't do the ritual with her. So ML asked if sunghyo if he is okay, if her lover's first night is taken by someone else. And sunghyo replied that he is agonizing over it and told ML "to not interfere with our relationship".
And the conversation followed, literally portray sunghyo love that girl. Even after ML asked if sunghyo of the noble blood really want to be with a courtesan. Sunghyo replied that her grandmother was also foreign slave.
Just this conversation alone, could make us all readers think that the love is mutual and they are in relationship. That's why I don't like sunghyo character, unless later it is explained that he really didn't have relationship with 10yo child
