Fr. If the emperor had kept his meat stick to himself half of this story would be moot. No bastards, no dead babies, no poisoned women, less rage (maybe even no rage or schemes if the emperor was loving and paid her constant attention. She wouldn’t have the time for all these schemes) Then the story would be mostly Tia and her conquering her family.
Yeah, but like imagine a story where the empress worked together with them to destroy the emperor? Like, it would only be like 5 chapters since the emperor is incompetent, but imagine she put all her energy into destroying the emperor, and not trying to kill babies and children. Like, she’s aiming her gun at the wrong person. The sad thing is that it happens so many times in real life where the person cheated on gets angry not at the cheater but the mistress(who sometimes doesn’t even know they’re a mistress) and the illegitimate child if they have one.
That would be quite expedient. She really should have made him more miserable. But anger at a mistress should be situational because some woman do it on purpose. For example, my mom told me that her coworker’s daughter is very pretty and she has a very rich and successful boyfriend that she ‘won’. Apparently she met the couple, ‘fell in love at first sight’ when she saw him and knew that she had the beauty and brains to ‘take him for herself’ so she did.
Man, the main issue with the empress was showcased right here in this chapter I think. She has a lot of justified anger and fury at the men in her life, especially the emperor. However, it’s the fact that she directed her anger at people who hadn’t actually done her harm first(Perez). She only became their enemy when she sought violence against them first. She was the own maker of her downfall by directing her anger at the wrong people and so those people ended up getting revenge against her.
She’s smart and much more capable than her brothers, but because of her family she was relegated to being someone’s wife and even then, her husband is an incompetent womanizer. It would also make me angry, as a woman. She had the right to cuss out the emperor and I totally had her back. But as soon as she directed her anger at Perez and his mother… like girly no… get angry at the man who cheated, not the child. This is why you’re being dragged away right now. It’s sad that even in her last moments of being dragged away, she didn’t realize this and still found someone else to blame(tia)
All in all, my main point is that the emperor suck and he’s the root of all of this.
