yeah i guess the empress' father was her support. but he died early in the story. that's why mc and ml could even compete with the empress.
What i meant was her grandpa. Cuz her father was incompetent.
I think he's just being arrogant and thinks lowly of women's competence. He probably never took empress seriously as a threat to his own status/life because he sees her existence as a mere add-on to his own.
I don’t know why the emperor is a little careless about the empress, but knowing that angenas are scheming people he chose to keep them closer because he knew angenas and lombardis have a beef against each other. The emperor just choose whose side he’s gonna benefit. Angenas and lombardi are powerful houses but again, angenas gained their power from endless schemes and stealing like what they did to the browns. He probably expected the empress will kill him. But i dunno why the nobles keep being blind while they knew the angenas were scheming. They didn’t stop the angenas for gaining power at the beginning. But I guess the last patriarch (her grandpa) before the empress’ father must be good at managing the house and calculative.
