The alpha is definitely not a green flag (there is a moment where he tries something nonconsensual but is stopped) and he's very love bomby to an uncomfortable extent at times, but the writing kind of treats it as if he's being a normal loving guy, so the MC doesn't have an issue with it (and it's never brought up as a further problem like it would be in real life). Overall, I think it's a good enough story to keep things interesting and I don't dislike the couple, but it's also not like some amazing story IMO. Kind of just something to read if the synopsis sounds interesting enough to you.
Then you didn't read the story. Cause it is brough up immediately after by him, he apologizes, tells him it was good that he was attacked by the Omega in retaliation and is even ready to leave, that makes him a Green Flag on My books
We see many "green flags" just get into a Rut or just be unstable that day, then lose control cause the omega was covered in someone else's feromones. To THEN have the scene end in the Omega most of the time saying it was fine cause they had no control over their actions.
He didn't do half as much and still apologized profusely and even told him what he did was self defense when the Omega was blaming himself.
^^^^^^ this man has to be one of the greenest flags we’ve had in BLs. Just because his actions aren’t always perfect doesn’t mean he loses that status, because it’s he handles it that makes him green. He communicates before it even gets brought up, he doesn’t jump to conclusions, he does nothing but build the Omega up, he doesn’t force ANYTHING. genuinely the perfect gentleman
ML is not perfect but he's still a green flag imo He lost control at that time and when MC countered with his pheromones, he assured him he wasn't a monster and that he should do it as a self defense & that he was the victim. Also we're reading an omegaverse why would u compare it to real life XD Nick is always assuring (or love bombing in ur words) with Owen coz he has trauma & self esteem issues so ofc Owen would be thankful rather than weirded out lmao. It's not a masterpiece but some story elements is def much better than others since ML is actually a Dom A that actually can block pheromones & has 6th sense and MC is a Dom O that can neutralize alpha's pheromones
He tried to forcibly mate him. Idk how someone can be green flag after that, but I guess we have our own definitions. And him reassuring Owen that Owen is not the problem afterwards is kind of a moot point because yeah, of course Owen isn't the problem. He was defending himself. If someone tries to assault someone else, that person defends themself, and then the assaulter recognizes that the other person was acting in self defense, it doesn't forgive the attempted assault??? I'm not saying Nick is some horrible guy but come on, there's more nuance here than you guys want to see. At least by my definition (a green flag = a non-problematic person who cares about others and respects boundaries), Nick is not a green flag (he neither respects Owen's boundaries physically, like in the instance we're speaking about, or emotionally, shown throughout the story as Owen consistently wants to move slower than Nick but Nick bulldozes through). Honestly, I think the author was trying to write a green flag man, but either doesn't understand consent and boundaries (not just in the bedroom), or they like non-green flag tropes too much to let them go. Which would be why Owen just acts like it's not a big deal every time Nick does whatever he wants, or worse, Owen blames himself. But sure, if you want to see Nick as unproblematic because Owen does (traumatized, insecurely-attached Owen), then go for it.
"He lost control and when MC counter with his pheromones, he assured him he wasn't a monster..." Right. OK. So Nick just "lost control" as he tried to assault Owen, but it's okay because when Owen defended himself he reassured Owen that it was self defense? What kind of logic is that?
And I'm aware we're reading omegaverse oh my god, but morality shouldn't just go out the window because it's different verse. I compared it to real life because these are things that happen in real life, as well. Love bombing (which Nick certainly does, pushing past boundaries that Owen tries to verbally set) is sadly very present in our world. So is assault.
And you're so right. Owen is traumatized and has low self-esteem. That would be why he always eventually just gives into Nick and blames himself for all of their issues rather than seeing the problems as they are. That's why he acts thankful instead of weirded out. Because he doesn't know what healthy looks like. That's quite common in relationships in our world, too.
I'll keep saying it, but I don't think Nick is some horrible person. I think the author wrote him badly. But that doesn't excuse everything he does, and it's fair to have this conversation about his actions. And by most definitions, he wouldn't be a green flag just because he's better than some others (the bar is low in manhwa, I know).
He may be on the greener side of the spectrum for BLs but that says more about BLs than it does about Nick. He's no green flag by any definition. He tried to assault Owen. I mean, I guess if you think that's green flag behavior, then that's on you. Not to mention that he does force things, at like every turn. Like literally all the time. Like constantly.
I didn't say that the assault was right but the fact that he knows it was wrong & knew to reassure to Owen he wasn't a monster for using self defense. Like you said, the author prob wasn't thinking about it too deeply when writing when ur writing deep analysis like this XD I understand nuances don't get me wrong but I also understand the usual cliches of omegaverse. If we're to do a best green flag ML no matter what verse, Owen wouldn't be in the top 100 but in omegaverse standards, I'd say he's better than the other 80% & someone that can reassure & defend Owen like what happened during the family meeting. Stop trying to lecture us about morality when we're in a pirate site & reading omegaverse where problematic tropes are bound to be esp when this manhwa isn't trying to be new that much. Like u said Nick isn't such a horrible man nor is he perfect & to some that's a green flag
Ding ding ding! Exactly. If we were talking real life then for sure, pink flag, consider leaving. But I saw no love bombing as they claimed and while there was an attempt it was handled property. Again, this being a verse where men can get pregnant and ppl walk around with pheromones, there's been many scenarios of losing control; that's literally the whole trope with pheromones. And yet we see it here handled pretty well and no unreversible damage done

is this worth reading?? ive been seeing this yaoi in tt app but i dont like the art style also WHY IS THE ALPHA NOT ALPHAING?! like its somewhat a nerfed alpha
