When I am looking for light hearted BL with no smut I read manhua, they usually have better writing too
To be honest, what I miss are stories where the characters are just really intimate with each other, like lots of cuddling, physical contact, holding hands, just being really physically affectionate as well as intense make-out scenes with lots of kissing, touching, and fondling without it leading to sex, or things like grinding, licking, or sucking on earlobes or the neck, etc... To be honest, I find that way hotter than when they just have sex right away
