It's not exactly the vibe you're going for but 'Kill the Villainess' ML is very much an NPC type in the best way and ALSO a loyal knight type and their relationship breaks my heart - lots of angst and she's quite cruel (not as much as Thalia but she very much stays a villainess till the end)
I dropped that long ago...it was good tho.
I like the knight though its obvious he's not gonna end up with her :(.
