It wasn’t dramatic, he’s still traumatised.

Yes he is traumatized about the whole dog thing but this scenario has nothing to do with his traumas? His reaction came forth after he was anxious for quite some time due to Joshua maybe leaving him. Chase has to be on the most overdramatic clingy tops, which I think suits his bratty character very well.

Although this scene may seem abrupt (I think it's more of a manhwa adaptation issue), it's not like Chase suddenly became suicidal. He was always depressed, and personally I'm sure it was a matter of many issues piling up from his childhood until now, and yes, Josh's choices didn't help either but it's not a singular reason. I think we could call this behavior dramatic if Chase was faking it for the sake of attention but he's genuinely this way.

No, Randomreader-- is right. Not everything has do with trauma when it comes to Chase. It's convenient blaming everything on trauma, the family, Grayson, but you can't soley reduce Chase's character to that. Chase also has some bad sides that have nothing to do with any trauma. And he later did manifest to a dominant alpha, none of them is really unaffected by it.

And blaming Josh is also a problem, because he has a child he has to think of.

You are underestimating one thing in this situation, dominant alphas are extremely possessive. Millers probably more so. Chase is not willing to live without Josh and he makes that clear there.

Well, blaming everything on Chase is even a bigger problem. Note that BOTH encounters in the past and in the present were Josh's own choice. Coming back to work for Chase and sleeping with him yet again was also Josh's choice. But Josh is avoiding taking a responsibility for his actions both in the past and in the present. Let's not pretend it's only about a kid's well-being. It's about Josh being afraid to face Chase's reaction to the truth. Because he knowingly slept with Chase when Chase was in an altered mental state and even got pregnant, while the other person is completely unaware. So yeah, it's mostly about Josh's own insecurities stopping him from coming clean with Chase. A man he went back to only to think about leaving him again. Chase isn't perfect, of course, he himself is broken by life and indeed he has the alpha traits you mentioned, but if Josh truly loves him and cares about him he should face him properly, otherwise it's just cowardly. After all as I said he did come back and started this relationship again on his own volition so it's time to own it up. Especially that a major part of Chase's current state is lack of something to ground him in life. It's quite clear that if he knew about having a child with Josh, and Josh would show a willingness to commit, things wouldn't escalate to this extent.

No it's not, because in my experience most in this comment section as I said blame trauma, his childhood, his parents, and Grayson for everything. That is when you want to have a serious discussion about his character. Those things certainly play a part, but are not the whole.

If it's just a reaction to a chapter, yes, you get the "he is dumb" ( sadly he is-_-), "is he blind?", and "dramaqueen" stuff you have now.

Josh plays a role in Chase's situation getting worse back then, since he was unsure if he raped the person he slep with, that is certainly true. And getting involved with a dominant alpha in rut is also problematic, Josh got marked and he was so stupid that he found out the he was pregnant when abortion wasn't an option anymore.
But we still down know what exactly happened that time, aside that Chase was in rut, Josh was weak for his face, and slept with him.
And we can't really make Josh solely responsible, because Chase is not releasing pheromones on his own and let them build up. When it comes to pheromone management Chase is the worst of the Miller siblings, by far. And that is really a serious issue, since Chase knows to what not releasing pheromones can lead.

Present Josh is marked by Chase, so Chase's pheromones have an impact on him, probably more than we think. And he is still weak for his face.
But Chase is a pretty unstable character, who has anger issues and tends to be violent.
Josh initially wasn't eager to work for him again.
It's one thing Josh being involved with him, and it could have causes a problem for him that they slept together years ago, especially since he still worked for Chase. He didn't know how Chase would react.
But Josh is a parent had to be sure that Pete is save with Chase. And being a Miller and rich, there was also the danger that he would try to take Pete away from him.
And even if he now is sure that it could work with Chase and Pete, finding the right time to talk about it is not that easy.
Josh is not perfect, and Chase is not either.

But as I said, in that situation it's more the Miller instinct of not wanting to let go "the one" person. So far the worst to handle it was Dominic and the best was Grayson.

I do partly agree with you, but just as you say that many people 'excuse' Chase with trauma, even more people completely downplay his PTSD and suicidal tendencies that were after all present in the narrative throughout the whole story which doesn't sit right with me because I've seen less hate against actual problematic characters like rapists, cheaters etc. Many people in this comment section treat mental issues very flippantly (I don't necessarily mean either OP or you here tho). Note that regarding a pheromone issue, we're actually circling back to Chase's past trauma. Chase isn't managing it properly exactly because he became repulsed by the idea of rut and sex during ruts. Regarding Josh - he is the one without mental issues, he's exactly the one who should view the situation with more clarity, but he still made up his mind about Chase rejecting him and Pete based on his own imagination. Josh hiding his pregnancy and leaving in the past was valid in my opinion, but now that he came back and got close to Chase, his lack of decisiveness is harmful. He clearly wants to have Chase but is afraid of facing the past at the same time. His ambivalent attitude is unfair towards Chase, who doesn't even get a chance to prove Josh wrong. And Josh actually is wrong, which is proven by the story itself. As I said Josh's worries were valid when he and Chase weren't close, but now they are. As you said it yourself, at this point Josh should know Chase well enough already. Anyway, I can definitely agree that BOTH characters are imperfect. It may be frustrating at times, and personally I think this whole problem got overly prolonged already, since it's clear that Josh actually loves Chase and cares about him.

It this universe all dominant alphas have mental issues, some more some less, mainly depending on how early they manifested and if the let pheromones accumulate.
So if you read the author's work for this universe, the moment they manifest you can't call them normal anymore, and not a small number of them has issues thanks to their parents etc. before they even manifest. And then you have born manifested like Grayson, who are just doomed from the beginning.

Chase has trauma, he had problems with his family, a lot of them were communication problems etc. Other family members also have issues because of how they grew up, but it impacted Chase the most, because he manifested late and therefore had no problems feeling emotions like the rest of his DA siblings. That's why Koi and Ash decided he should have a go in acting, so he could be away from the family and meet other people (that was when his bird died).

But you're wrong when it comes to Chase's pheromones issue. It stems from him not wanting to have sex without feelings. That is why it came to the situation at his first rut, where Grayson panicked and brought his dog. It also is the reason why he has problems connecting with other dominant alphas. Also why Steward said that Chase would have been better off as a beta.
Dominant alphas have to release their pheromones regulary, not just when they go into rut. In addition they have been always extracting Chase's pheromones by injection, with him being unaware of it.
The pheromone management is really Chase's fault. He doesn't want to have sex without feelings, but he is not taking care of alternatives. Chase is an adult, why does it need to have Grayson forcing him to pheromone parties, why can't he talk with the doctor himself and organize getting rid of his pheromones?
And yes, Chase is afraid what could happen during a rut, and Grayson is using that fear to make him go to the parties. But as I said, it is not the reason why Chase doesn't release pheromones.
