This is overall good so far, with some weak points here and there

Yet another guideverse that's interesting enough to suck me in, just to leave me hanging in an exciting moment plot-wise... Gives me Approximal Guide flashbacks.

I like this so far. It's linear, but not boring. It has an interesting concept, and it's fresh. The world building seems to be more thought out than other guideverse stories I've started reading, and I like that the origin of the gates themselves is touched on - not just that, but that the nonamed espers themselves might be what's upholding the gates. The gates seem to be the creators of the nonamed espers, so I'm intrigued to see how they interact and what that means, like what the nonamed espers are supposed to be and do, and what the gates need the espers for in the first place. The characters so far are okay, I'm just waiting to see more development in them. What this manhwa does well is the overall moody atmosphere and creating a believable, dark world with enough mystery and action to keep you reading. The abilities and categories of the espers are a nice touch and I find the main nonamed esper's ability interesting and excruciating enough to create delicious angst. The characters themselves, at least so far, don't seem as strong in writing and impression.

What I don't like is the pace when it comes to the protagonist couple, like how quickly the main esper and main guide got together despite the esper having trauma because of his former guide (very gruesome and tragic scene, I got chills from it). Given the esper's tragic background with his first guide, I truly don't understand how he could proceed so far as to even adopt the guide. I was expecting a slow burn tbh, the circumstances called for it, but it turned to - hm, he's cute, so I feel drawn to him (it didn't seem like the esper was particularly touched by the fact he saved the guide as a child, so yeah, there wasn't much of a ground for him to open up so quickly). Sure, their match rate is also high, but the esper is guarded af and for a good reason. His walls were broken down too quickly imo.

On a side note, the art style reminds me a bit of a combination of Dark Heaven and An Unsettling Scent, in a good way.
