plus mc being able to use his voice around ml and them hugging after confessing their love to each other while the sun rises (which is a contrast to the original mermaid princess turning into foam at dawn of the day of her rejection, signifying change of fate) is in itself more intimate than any kiss would’ve been
ppl complaining about no physical activity between then and although i do agree a kiss would’ve been nice, i think the lack of it kind of suits the whole manga
it wasn’t promoted as a romantic, fluffy, handsy manga in the first place — so i personally enjoy the more deeper undertone to all this
