Honestly I think its closer to both, they want the shock factor of explicit SA/rape but they make it palatable for those who get off on it and they use it as a device to further the story and drive the MC who is clearly uncomfortable with the ML's unhealthy situation with his boss and sees that the ML simply can't extricate himself from it. Most likely because its all he's known for the majority of his life, if the comment about him growing up is to be considered from the last chapter.

im lost i dunno if the author uses SA as an element of the storie or if it's just pure fetishization, like, it's making me REALLY uncomfortable and it's supposed to, but is it useful to put it on display like this ? i genuinly dont know, and if it's just supposed to be extremly disturbing and not fetishization, then it's well done, but you dont really know what the authors are thinking these days so...
