I’m really tired of this plot where the toxic love is just the main lead trapping the main character and keeping them locked up from the outside. I can usually handle toxic love even though I don’t like it, but I really can’t with this trope. It’s so annoying and it just makes me dislike the main lead which leaves the plot equally as boring as it is stupid. I wish we could go back to toxic love being less about abusing the main character verbally and stuff like that. I know it sounds ridiculous as the tag is toxic love at the end of the day, but there’s so many other ways to show toxicity such as manipulation or other things without fully being evil towards the main character, not even trying to hide it. I just hate this trope it’s very repetitive and sickening
