If I was a knight I’d think that Cesare saw the future in an instant rather than literally coming back from the future. That seems at least slightly more probable.

    No but his words saying that "its been 7 years" and "I've come back" imply that he lived through a previous experience instead of just seeing it

    Sure sure but even then I’d be like “maybe his brain was so shocked he felt like he’d lived through it and then came back.” Cause as far as we know this world has no magic so someone turning back time is only slightly more crazy than someone having a “future premonition” that may or may not be a psychosis.

    i think their conclusion was also driven by their country’s belief that the founding emperor fought for 7 years to bring his empress back.
